NSU’s Biggest Losers Program had its most successful year to date last year, when the winner lost more than 50 pounds and several other participants lost more than 30 pounds. This time may just be the chance you’ve been waiting for: Will you be our next Biggest Loser?
If you’re ready to change your life for the better, tired of being tired, or simply want to feel better, then perhaps this program is just what you need. But don’t count on a quick fix. It takes hard work, a lot of sweat and some serious commitment. As those who’ve successfully completed the program will tell you, it’s definitely worth it.
This program is about learning to take control of your health by making a lifelong change to improve and maintain your physical well-being. It incorporates a balance of exercise, motivational coaching, and nutritional counseling. As an NSU’s Biggest Loser participant, you’ll have resources to help you make the necessary lifestyle changes: a Registered Dietician, certified Personal Fitness Trainers, and healthy lifestyle coaches. In addition to weight loss, some past participants have also seen dramatic improvements in blood pressure and cholesterol readings, as well. Results, of course, vary and are not guaranteed.
Requirements of NSU’s Biggest Loser Program include:
- Three 90-minute sessions per week with a personal trainer
- Additional “homework” workouts (on your own)
- Participation in monthly group challenges
- Biweekly appointments with a Registered Dietician
- Biweekly appointments with a healthy lifestyle coach
- Upkeep of an activity and food journal
- Commitment
Please note: Program begins January 2011. A maximum of 18 persons will be selected.
Application deadline is October 29.
