“Real success takes time! & when you get there, it may be completely different to how you imagine it… but it’s the journey and what it takes to get there that matters, that’s what builds you and shapes you, as it’s that which doesn’t break you, that makes you!” -Chris Bertish
When: Friday, October 27, 2023
Time: 7:00pm – 8:30pm
Location: NSU Alvin Sherman Library
NSU Alvin Sherman Library is excited to welcome South African conservationist, surfer, businessman, author, filmmaker, and three-time Guinness World Record holder Chris Bertish. Bertish will be talking about his book All In! The Atlantic Standup Paddle Crossing -93 Days Alone at Sea. The talk details his historic 2017 accomplishment of being the first individual to Stand Up Paddle (SUP) across the Atlantic Ocean, an arduous solo trip that spanned from Morocco, Africa to Antigua in the Caribbean. Bertish will also recall his experiences at sea which include but are not limited to, being hunted by a great white shark, being towed by a giant squid, and capsizing multiple times. Attendees will be equal parts enthralled by Bertish’s harrowing journey, and uplifted by his positive attitude which shows that one can accomplish anything that they put their mind to.
In addition to the Author talk with Chris Bertish, this event will feature a Q&A Session, and copies of All In! will be available for purchase.
Tickets will be available October 6 via Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center (miniacipac.com)
