Call for fellow Sharks in service…as the Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement continues to host its annual “Make A Difference Week”. We would like to encourage all of you to continue getting involved in your community and S.E.R.V. it to the best of your ability. The following is a list of the remaining events taking place that are still available for you to participate in.
Adopt-A-Street Clean Up @ Nova Drive
Thursday, October 20:
Morning shift is from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
Afternoon shift is from 4:30 p.m.-5:30.p.m.
Transportation will be provided to and from the location. Limit to 11 passengers
*Mandatory safety meetings will take place on the second floor of the Rosenthal Student Center, room 200 on Wednesday, October 19 at 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 19 from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Don Taft University Center, second floor floor
“Howling Hammock” Halloween Event
Friday, October 21 from 7:00 p.m.-11:45 p.m. at Hugh Taylor Birch State Recreation Area,
Transportation provided to and from the location. Limit to 11 passengers.
Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk
Saturday, October 22 from 7:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Mizner Park Amphitheatre, Boca Raton, FL., Transportation provided to and from the location. Limit to 11 passengers.
Saturday, October 22 from 7:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Vista View Park 4001 located at SW 142nd Avenue, Davie,FL.
Transportation provided to and from the location. Limit to 11 passengers
* By participating in any of the events listed above with 2 or more members of your organization, you may be entitled to receive S.E.R.V. hours in recognition for your time given to the community service project.
Throughout the week (Oct. 17-21), C.A.U.S.E., Hillel, Lambda Theta Alpha, Latin Sorority Inc., Rotaract, and UpTil Dawn will be tabling from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Don Taft University Center and in front of the Parker Building to provide information and to recruit volunteers for their particular service projects.
We encourage all NSU students and faculty and staff members to S.E.R.V. your community either through participation in one of the events listed above, by supporting and visiting the 5 organizations tabling in the Don Taft University Center and in front of the Parker Building throughout the week, and finally by doing your part to Make A Difference. After all, that’s what “sharks in S.E.R.V.ice” do best.
