The office of Campus Recreation is pleased to announce the offering of beginner scuba diving certification classes! The current schedule is as follows:
Session One – 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning August 31st. Certification dives will be held on 9/25 and 9/26.
Session Two – 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning October 12th. Certification dives will be held on 11/6 and 11/7.
Fort Lauderdale is an excellent place to learn one of South Florida’s signature pastimes. The beginner course costs $395.00 and that price includes all equipment and boat rental fees. The only pieces of equipment you need to bring are mask, fins, snorkel, weights, and the willingness to learn.
- Classroom sessions run on Tuesday evenings from 6-9pm
- Pool sessions run on Thursday evenings from 6-9pm at the competition pool
- Open Water certification dives are conducted on Saturday and Sunday at the conclusion of the course (weather permitting)
- You must attend all the classroom and pool sessions and pass the written exam for certification.
