Greek philosopher Heraclitus said that the only constant in life is change, but this constancy this constancy does not necessarily mean a peaceful process. Undergoing metamorphosis can be both joyful and regenerative, but also fraught with fracture and trauma.
This year’s Crossroads will consider how the humanities both inspire and reflect transformative change. In what ways do the arts, literature, history, film, religion, and philosophy provide the building blocks for human growth and development? How are the humanities involved in the courage to make change possible?
