The office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement and the Office of Student Media have established a new partnership in leadership and media development by establishing NSU’s First Inaugural Student Leadership & Multimedia Conference.
The Leadership & Multimedia Conference will take place on NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus on Saturday January 27, 2018, registration opens at 9:00 a.m. and first session begins at 10:00 a.m.. Registration is free for NSU students and includes lunch.
This daylong leadership and multimedia conference provides the opportunity for NSU students to join area community college and high school student to participate in an event that will enhance students’ skills and knowledge, and engages them to think critically about issues related to media and leadership development. Students who participate will learn from a variety of speakers and facilitators—both faculty and staff from the university as well as outside speakers that have significant professional expertise in their respective industries in the areas of leadership and media.
In addition, NSU students will have the opportunity to network with representatives from local businesses, non-profits, and media outlets at our Leadership & Multimedia Internship Fair. The internship fair complements the conference allowing students to learn about and apply for internships oftentimes on the spot.
As part of the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a hands on service component. We have partnered with REAP Latin America to help package dehydrated nutrient-rich meals that will be donated to individuals to individuals in need in Puerto Rico. With your help, we can pack 5000 meals for those in need!
