It’s that time again – time to head out to the local waterways to lend a hand and clean up our environment. The Broward County Waterway Cleanup is scheduled for 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5th at more than 30 sites across Broward County.
This is an opportunity to spend a few hours and help the South Florida environment. The Broward County Waterway Cleanup, now in its 39th year, is one of Broward County’s largest and longest running environmental events. Volunteers can participate by land, boat, kayak, paddleboard or method of their choice! Registration is required. It is followed by the Trash Bash for volunteers, with food, drinks, raffle prizes and live music.
In years past, many Nova Southeastern University students have signed up to volunteer at John U. Lloyd State Park, which is home to the NSU Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography’s ocean campus. For a list of sites, more information or to register, visit www.waterwaycleanup.org.
