The Department of Conflict Resolution Studies (DCRS) and the Department of Justice and Human Services in Nova Southeastern University’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is joining with NSU’s Student Veteran’s group to present the documentary Battlefield: Home, Breaking the Silence.
The screening is scheduled for 3:30 – 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8 in NSU’s Veteran’s Resource Room, Rosenthal Building on the Fort Lauderdale-Davie Campus. While the event is free and open to the NSU community, seating is limited. Those interested in attending must RSVP to Kathleen Doyle at 954-262-7009 or by e-mail at kd737@nova.edu. The screening will include a question and answer session, and light refreshments will be served.
What makes this documentary all the more special is that it was directed by NSU alumna Anita Sugimura Holsapple, M.S. – a 2008 graduate from NSU’s Conflict Analysis and Resolution Program in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. The documentary focuses on and features stories from our veterans on what it was like, and what they’ve had to battle, after returning home from serving their country.
