The Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) of HPD’s College of Health Care Sciences is offering accent modification services to NSU faculty and students at The Speech-Language Pathology Clinic, 6100 Griffin Road. These services are provided by graduate student SLP clinicians directly supervised by SLP faculty members in weekly group settings.
These services include the following:
Foreign Accent Modification
Non-native speakers of English are taught techniques to improve their pronunciation and grammatical features of English for more effective communication. Expansion of the speakers’ vocabulary is also offered.
Regional Dialect Modification
Native English speakers are instructed in techniques to assist them in acquiring the pronunciation and grammatical features of more Standard American English.
