Upcoming Tools for Success workshops:

September 10:  S.O.S (Students on Success) 12:10pm – 12:50pm

NSU undergraduate students will share how best to approach your first year in college. Ask questions,
learn tips, and discover how the Office of Undergraduate Student Success can help you adjust to life as an NSU student.

September 17:  Success Strategies for On-Line Courses 12:10pm – 12:50pm
Want to lead the pack in your online class? We can show you how! Learn tips and tools to navigate the Blackboard environment successfully.

September 24:  Honing Your Writing Skills 12:10pm – 12:50pm
After attending this informative session about academic writing, you will be aware of the tools needed to begin the writing process, select the appropriate format, and choose the right language.

October 1:  Conflict Resolution 12:10 – 12:50pm
Having a problem or conflict with your roommate, classmate, professor or campus office? Discussion of the development of successful strategies to resolve problems and conflicts will be the focus of the workshop discussion.

October 4:  Time Management: Juggling School, Work, and Life 3:00pm – 3:50pm

October 8:  Time Management: Juggling School, Work, and Life 12:10pm – 12:50pm
Learn various resources to assist you in managing your time efficiently and effectively. You will develop an awareness
of time management tools and techniques that are essential to success in all aspects of life.

October 22:  Academic Integrity and Your Success 12:10pm – 12:50pm
A panel of NSU professors will provide information about the University’s policy on Academic Misconduct and how it affects your success. The workshop will conclude with a question and answer session.

October 25:  Goal Setting 3:00pm – 3:50pm

October 29:  Using CAPP for Student Success 12:10pm – 12:50pm
This session will explain how to access and use the Curriculum, Advising, and Program Planning report available in SharkLink.
You will also learn about the various resources available on the web.

November 5: Winning at Math 12:10pm – 12:50pm
This interactive workshop will empower and promote active learning and success for students enrolled in MATH 1000, 1030, and/or 1040. You will receive guidance, gain success strategies, and learn techniques that will result in becoming a “winner at math.”

November 12:  Test Preparation 12:10pm – 12:50pm
This workshop will help you gain confidence and assurance in your test-taking abilities. You will explore test-taking strategies
that include how to approach different types of tests and the actual test-taking process.

November 19:  Goal Setting 12:10pm – 12:50pm
This workshop will address why setting goals is important, identify different types of goals, and provide you with tips for staying motivated and on track once goals have been established.

December 3:  Stress Management 12:10pm – 12:50pm
Become aware of different strategies to identify and manage typical stressors. You will learn how to apply
a range of stress reduction techniques to your everyday life.
