The first week of school is the first week that NSU’s official Veterans’ Resource Center (VRC) will be up and running. Currently, the veteran population of NSU exceeds 800 individuals on our main campus alone! On Friday, August 30, Nova Student Veterans Association (NSVA) Leadership Board will host the Grand Opening of the VRC. Please join us for this momentous event which will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Rosenthal Student Center, room 218; the Leadership Board’s official presentation will kick off at 4:00 p.m. At the conclusion of the event, NSVA will attend Sharkapalooza to acquaint themselves with the student body and recruit new members for NSVA. (Sharkapalooza, one of NSU’s most popular welcome back events, will take place August 30 6:30 -9:30 p.m. in the Don Taft University Center.)
In the spirit of this event, we ask each attending veteran to bring one service picture with them; the pictures will be posted on our bulletin board along with a brief description of time in service. We could not be more excited to witness and be a part of NSVA’s fruition! Come out and show your support for NSVA and its new home!
By 2015, there will be over one million returning veterans. Let’s make it our mission to ensure they have a warm and spirited environment to come home to! See you soon!
