- Welcome Back BBQ, Speedy Sharks, Sharks and Sparez (August 17-19)
On move-in weekend, the Residential Student Association (RSA) hosted three programs to provide residential students with an opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy their first weekend at Nova Southeastern University. RSA hosted a Welcome Back BBQ on Friday night. Despite the stormy weather, there was a great turn out. On Saturday night, RSA set up a Speed Friending program. Students who attended had the opportunity to meet someone new, talk for two minutes, and then switch partners. The questions ranged from “Who was the first person you met at Nova?” to “Beyoncé or Rihanna?”. The students loved getting to meet so many people in such a short amount of time. The final event was Sharks and Sparez Bowling. Shark Shuttles took students to Sparez Bowling where they had two hours of free bowling, pizza, and drinks provided. For more information about RSA, please contact Amber Waters at aw718@nova.edu. - RecFest (click on the name to see photos from this event)

The evening was accompanied with a RecFest t-shrit, free food from local vendors, give a ways at each table, fitness challenges, a basketball game, and even a live band in the Flight Deck. - Picnic on the Patio
SEA Board co-sponsored with the NSU Orientation leaders for a very successful picnic. All the orientation leaders reunited with their students from orientation this past summer. Many other NSU students came out and enjoyed music and a free lunch. Lunch was provided by Sonny’s BBQ and it included burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, co slaw, and chip. We were happy to see that over 230 students attended this event. - First Bite (click on the name to see photos from this event)

Shout out to all the students who won prizes including gift cards, gift baskets, free passes, a flight for 2, and the grad prize a flight for two, hotel stay, and a $200 gift card. What better way to end your first week of school than with a giant day-glow style party! When we were younger we all loved playing in bounce houses and inflatable water slides. SGA’s welcome back Electric Water Works brought us all back to our childhood but with a true college twist. There were 6 giant inflatable attractions that students were able to jump, joust, and slide on. There was also day-glow style paint that students were able to throw at each other and all around the quad! This event also featured a live DJ, DJ Classik. Even though the lightning caused the event to end early, it is safe to say that electric water works was a huge success! NSU Sharks, don’t be surprised if you see Electric Water Works part 2 next semester!
