We are thrilled and excited to be hosting Sharkapalooza virtually this year. We will be using an immersive virtual event platform for this organizational fair. Attendees will be fully engaged and excited to create personalized avatars to interact as a community. There will be live voice-to-voice conversations along with chat functionality to offer a unique opportunity to connect within the world. - Who can attend? All NSU Students.
- Can I sign up another person to attend? No, every student must register individually using their personal NSU Email.
- Is this through Zoom? No, this is through an external company known as Degy World, that has created a virtual world for our students.
- Can access Sharkapalooza via mobile device or ipad? No, you will have be on a desktop computer or laptop.
- Should I have on headphones for this event? Yes, for better sounds and prevention of echoing
- Who will be in attendance? NSU Faculty, Staff, and Students.
- What is the purpose of this Virtual Sharkapalooza? To connect and engage with various clubs, organizations, and departments. Learn how to get involved and join these clubs. Also, the opportunity to network and meet fellow NSU Sharks virtually.
- How do I logon? You will receive a link to download the software a day before the event. You will then create your own Avatar person to virtually navigate inside of the virtual world (see picture below).
- Will there be Giveaways? Yes
For those who do not have a Sharkhub Account make sure to visit sharkhub.nova.edu to sign up. You will need to sign in with your NSU credentials. Sharkhub is the main hub for student involvement at NSU! It has the list of our Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) on campus and lets you know what is happening!
