The Power of a Woman’s Cycle: Using Fertility Awareness in Treating Women’s Health Problems

NSU students are invited to an interprofessional presentation titled: “The Power of a Woman’s Cycle: Using Fertility Awareness in Treating Women’s Health Problems.” Our speaker is Dr. Chasuk, a Family Medicine Physician who is the Associate Director for both Graduate Medical Education and the Family Medicine Residency Program at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center, as well as Clinical Associate Professor for Tulane University School of Medicine. He is a Certified FertilityCare Medical Consultant through the American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals and serves as medical faculty for FertilityCare Practitioner education programs.

The presentation outline includes a brief review of the physiology of the fertility cycle and how using that knowledge and fertility charting can facilitate diagnosis and treatment of common Women’s Health issues. Specific examples  including Ovarian Cysts, Premenstrual Syndrome, Infertility, and prevention of pregnancy, including comparison to in vitro methods. He will also speak about specific resources and further training in this knowledge.
