Student Volunteer Sign-Up for A Day for Children (Postponed)

A Day For Children POSTER

Due to hurricane Irma, this event is postponed until further notice.

Are you looking for a way to get involved in the Broward County community? Does your organization need community service hours? Volunteer at our annual “A Day for Children” event hosted on the NSU main campus.

Children ages 17 years and younger (including infants and toddlers), along with their families, are invited to attend this year’s event for a day filled with fun while focusing on the issue of health.

Those attending the event will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from NSU’s Health Care Centers and others, who will be providing free assessments for hearing and balance, vision, speech-language, dental health, nutrition tips, and more.

NSU health care providers and others, organizations, and companies from across Broward County, including Children’s Services Council, Hungry Howie’s, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Florida KidCare, Florida Blue, Young at Art Museum, and Broward 211 are just a few of the many organizations that will be on-hand at the event.

The event will be held on Sunday, September 17 and will run from 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Volunteer shifts will be three hours each, ranging from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and include: Set-Up, Shift A, Shift B, and Tear-Down. Students can sign up for one or more shifts. Team Captain positions are available for students seeking more of a leadership position.

Event sign-up will close on September 13. Two members from each organization must volunteer to obtain hours for their organization.
