SHSS Alumna is Named Professor, Awarded Tenure, and Publishes Book

Jaqueline Font-GuzmanJacqueline Font-Guzman, J.D., Ph.D., doctoral graduate of NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), has been awarded tenure and promoted to full professor in the Werner Institute for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at the School of Law at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition, she recently published a book based on her dissertation research titled, Experiencing Puerto Rican Citizenship and Cultural Nationalism. The book has been published by Palgrave Macmillan and explores how some Puerto Ricans construct and experience their citizenship and national identity while at the margins of the U.S.

Font-Guzman has been an associate professor at the Werner Institute for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at the School of Law at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She received a Fulbright Fellowship and served as a senior lecturer at the Carlos III University Law School in Madrid in the spring in 2012. In addition to her doctoral degree from NSU, she holds a J.D. degree from the Interamericana University of Puerto Rico, a Master of Health Administration (M.H.A.) from Saint Louis University and a B.A. from Coe College.
