FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Following her third career triple double and of the season, Christen Prasse was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, her second award of the season and third all-time.
After a pregame ceremony honoring her efforts and those of her fellow seniors, Christen Prasse converted emotion into energy, recording her aforementioned third career triple-double, as she led Nova Southeastern team to another dominant win at the Rick Case Arena on Wednesday evening, this time by a score of 77-53 over Palm Beach Atlantic.
“Christen has found a different level of focus and play this season and it is evident in her production every game,” explained head coach LeAnn Freeland-Curry. “It is truly exceptional to have three triple-doubles in one season and our staff and her teammates are proud of her accomplishments so far.”
In the win over PBA, Prasse finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists for the triple-double, to go along with a season-high four steals. Her 13 points came from 6-of-12 shooting from the field and 3-of-9 shooting from long range. She was also 2-for-2 at the line.
Prasse is one of four Sharks averaging double-digits with 12.1 ppg, second highest on the team, and leads the squad in rebounds (7.8) and assists (6.4) per game. In the conference, she ranks first in assists per game, fifth in rebounds per game and 11th in scoring.
Nova Southeastern will enter the first round of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament this Wednesday evening, hosting the Embry-Riddle Eagles at 5:30 p.m. in the Rick Case Arena.
