In February of 2014, the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University launched an institutional repository to collect, archive and disseminate scholarship and historical materials produced by the faculty, students, staff, and alumni of NSU. In one year NSUWorks, (http://nsuworks.nova.edu), has added over 6,000 items and has recently reached a second important milestone – over 100,000 downloads from around the world on March 18, 2015.

The repository is an online, open access archive that currently includes faculty publications, theses/dissertations, collections from the NSU Archives, five journals, three conferences, and a myriad of other items related to the history and scope of NSU’s past and present. NSUWorks continues to grow daily and welcomes submissions, questions and the opportunity to collaborate on projects at nsuworks@nova.edu.

The 100,000th download was an article in one of the journals housed in NSUWorks, The Qualitative Report, by a former EdD student and current employee of the Abraham S. Fischler School of Education, Daniel W. Turner III: “Qualitative Interview Design: A Practical Guide for Novice Investigators” at http://nsuworks.nova.edu/tqr/vol15/iss3/19/.

Additional top downloaded items in the repository:

“Walking the Legal Tightrope: Solutions for Achieving a Balanced Life in Law” by Leslie L. Cooney (Professor of Law, Shepard Broad Law Center): http://nsuworks.nova.edu/law_facarticles/12/
