The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) conducted its 2018 PADI Business Academy in conjunction with NSU’s Academic Diving Program February 12 and 13, 2018 at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s Carl DeSantis Building.  The two-day event is designed to integrate diving industry-specific business strategies and tactics that can be used to achieve business goals in dive centers.  Dive center owners and managers from as far away as Arizona, Minnesota and Virginia took part in the learning at NSU’s prestigious Fort Lauderdale Campus.

The staff of NSU’s Academic Diving Program assisted in the event in several ways.  Student staff members escorted participants around campus for food and the PADI Business Academy Social at the Flight Deck.  Tec Clark, Associate Director for Aquatics and Scuba Diving, was a featured presenter at the Business Academy as he spoke about establishing workplace culture.  And one of the most popular events was a panel discussion Q&A featuring five NSU students who discussed perspectives from the millennial point of view.

NSU’s Academic Diving Program (NSUADP) is a PADI Educational Institution and provides nearly 300 diving certifications annually.  The NSUADP is one of the largest university diving programs in the United States.
