NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Nova Southeastern University men’s and women’s track and field teams were honored with 11 student-athletes in 14 individual events All-South Region accolades as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The women’s side notched 10 individual awards, led by senior Jazmine Elleston with three All-South Region nods. The men’s team, meanwhile, collected four, highlighted by Eric Moate’s pair of accolades.
“I am proud of every single student-athlete that made this list,” head coach Bryan Hagopian said. “Most of these athletes are on the list after stepping up and working harder to improve from last season. We also have a few athletes who have battled injury and dedicated this season to show what they can do at their full potential.”
In order to be included in the All-Region honoree list, an athlete must be either ranked in the Top-5 in an individual event in the region according to the Track and Field Results Reporting System, or be a member of a Top-3 relay team.
The Sharks will travel to Charlotte, N.C. to compete in the NCAA Division II Track and Field National Championship from Friday, May 25 to Saturday, May 26 at the Irwin Belk Complex hosted by John C. University.
