Following the recent earthquakes in Ponce, Puerto Rico many of the NSU Puerto Rico students came together to help those affected. Maria Vasquez from Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice worked alongside Eduardo J. Roman Campos and Vanessa Blanco to collect items for the “Hermanas Dominicas de Fatima” after their convent at Yauco was destroyed following the quakes. Many donations were received at the NSU PR campus that the NSU students and the sisters personally delivered to the community of Ponce.
