NSU Offers First Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Support Group

  • WHO: NSU’s Anxiety Treatment Center and OCD and Related Disorders Clinic; individuals with OCD and their family members
  • WHAT: Free OCD Support Group Meeting
  • WHERE: Maltz Building for the Center for Psychological Studies, 3300 S. University Drive., Davie, Room 2055
  • WHEN: 8-9 p.m. Thursday, October 17th
  •  WHY:  Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) affects many members of our community. For some, they are able to address it and know where help is available if needed. For others, they may not realize they suffer from OCD and are in need of such help.

While OCD tends to be associated with aspects made popular in TV and movies (i.e. germ-phobia, need for symmetry) there are other, more debilitating forms of the disorder. This first-annual support group meeting is open to those with all forms of OCD and their families to allow them to discuss their needs and interact with others living with OCD. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to talk with OCD experts, including Jedidiah Siev, Ph.D., an assistant professor and director of NSU’s Anxiety Treatment Center and the OCD and Related Disorders Clinic. For more information, individuals can call 954-262-5822.
