FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern men’s golf team is just a mere five weeks away from ramping up what expects to be an exciting spring season, beginning with the Matlock Collegiate Classic, hosted by Florida Southern, from Feb. 11-12.
In all, the Sharks will appear in five regular season events, highlighted by a cross-country trip to Stanford University’s “The Goodwin” from Mar. 28-30, before postseason action gets underway at the Sunshine State Conference Championship on Apr. 14.
“The team is excited to be competing in some of the best tournaments the spring season has to offer,” said head coach Joey Marino. “Specifically, the opportunity to play in Stanford’s home tournament gives our guys the opportunity to play with some of the best players in college golf, and will be great preparation for the postseason.”
Additionally, Nova Southeastern will receive an SSC Championship preview in late February when it travels to Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club to compete in the Saint Leo Invitational, an event the Sharks won by eight strokes a year ago. The spring slate also includes the Southeastern Collegiate, hosted by Valdosta State, as well as a trip to Eatonton, Ga. for the Bobcat Invitational.
The Sharks closed the fall on a high note by capturing the team title at the Miami Intercollegiate, momentum they hope carries them towards the program’s 17th regional appearance.
