NSU Jacksonville Hosted Virtual Instructional Program Symposium

NSU’s Jacksonville Student Educational Center (SEC) hosted the first annual Virtual Instructional Program Symposium on December 5-7.  There were 27 Florida school districts that participated.  NSU Alum Marilyn Myers, Ph.D., director of Virtual Schools for the Duval County School District, put together an outstanding team of professionals in the field for a very successful two and one half day event to assist all of the school districts in attendance.

The State of Florida has mandated that every school district have at least one virtual school and many districts need assistance in learning how to set these schools up to insure quality teaching in every virtual classroom. The Jacksonville Student Educational Center was honored to be a part of this first statewide initiative.

  1. Please share more information. What was the focus of the conference? What types of workshops were held? Which school districts/organizations attended? When/where will the next conference be held?
