TEMPE, Ariz. – The Nova Southeastern women’s tennis team has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) both individually and collectively, as Ivana Djordjevic, Andrea Ivanovic, Ana Navas and Nastassia Rubel have earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors in addition to the Sharks being selected as a 2018 ITA All-Academic Team.
This marks the second straight year NSU has had at least four student-athletes named to the list of ITA Scholar-Athletes.
“These awards truly show that we are about ‘STUDENT-athletes’ here at NSU,” said head coach Doug Neagle. “These young ladies deserve credit because they have very busy schedules, which include traveling, and they stay on top of it all!”
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters and have posted a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is presented to those with a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or above. All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2017 and spring 2018).
