Celebrate the Holidays with Concert of Carols

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Performing and Visual Arts will conclude the fall 2010 semester with The Voice of Dickens: A Concert of Holiday Carols, a Premier Series event directed by Jennifer Donelson, D.M.A., assistant professor in the college. The performances will take place on Friday, December 3, at 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. in the Performance Theatre of the college’s Performing and Visual Arts Wing in the Don Taft University Center.

In this holiday production suitable for all ages, Scrooge joins the Bossa Nova Chorale for scenes from Charles Dickens’s classic A Christmas Carol, accompanied by music of the season that chronicles Scrooge’s transformation.

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Bossa Nova Chorale will also collect food donations for The Pantry of Broward, which distributes food to senior citizens in need. Donations of dry or canned goods can be dropped off at the Performing and Visual Arts Wing, November 28 through December 3. Donations will also be accepted before and after both performances on December 3.

Admission to The Voice of Dickens is free, but tickets are required. To reserve seats, please call (954) 262-8179 or email nsutheatre@nova.edu. To view the college’s full Season of the Arts schedule, visit www.fcas.nova.edu/performingarts/schedule.cfm.
