Ars Flores to Host Evening of Jazz Music

Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra In celebration of Black History Month, the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra will host a concert honoring a variety of American jazz artists.

Part of the college’s Resident Series, the event will feature performances of music made famous by legendary jazz musicians Duke Ellington, Scott Joplin, William Grant Still, and Leroy Anderson.

On the morning of the concert, Ars Flores will also offer Music for Munchkins: a free, 30-minute mini-event geared toward children and their families.

Connecting with the Community Through Art

The NSU Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences partners with Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra to further connect campus and community creative resources. NSU’s orchestra in residence is a unique professional orchestra with professional, conservatory, college, and gifted high school students performing side by side. Ars Flores gives students a rare opportunity to rehearse and perform with talented professional musicians, all of whom hold at least one degree in music. Learn more at
